CPTec offers enhanced software support via remote control

In case of a support request, CPTec employees are now able to view the
customer operating his or her Windows computer via the Internet. Optionally, the
customer PC may also be operated by CPTec via mouse and keyboard. This method
can replace instructions via the phone which often turn out to be rather
inconvenient. Questions concerning the operation of software can be answered
more efficiently this way. The CPTec employee may observe directly how the
customer causes a particular behavior of the software. If necessary, the
employee may take over the operation of the customer PC.
The transmission can also be used the other way round. In this case, the
remote PC allows the customer to view the screen of the CPTec employee. This is
a convenient way of giving product presentations or training courses.
The connection between the computers is established by means of the
UltraVNC software. In
order to ensure proper operation if firewalls are involved, the connection
is established via a special server acting as a repeater. There is no need to
install any programs on the customer PC. Data encryption is used for all
transferred data.
