CPTec produces Spare Parts Catalogs for FTE

FTE automotive GmbH, world-wide market leader in the field of hydraulic clutch and motorcycle ABS systems and supplier of hydraulic brake systems, relies on service and software provided by CPTec.

For this purpose, CPTec has developed software which imports data from TecDoc, the information system used by the automotive supply industry. These data are adapted to the terminology and the structures used by FTE for the automotive aftermarket. The conversion tables which have been created for this purpose are maintained by FTE.

This software allows to selectively produce spare parts catalogs in the required final layout. The output has to be completed with the cover and introduction pages only.

When developing the software, special attention was paid for creating a clear and compact printed catalog with easy-to-read columns and a minimum number of pages. To this end, special sort and compression algorithms have been developed which summarize articles of several vehicle types and use the FTE specific abbreviations and symbols.

The introduction of this solution causes a significant reduction of expenses when creating catalogs because the costly process of collecting and maintaining data in a DTP system is not required. Features which allow to further use this technology for presentation of the spare parts in a web shop have already been implemented.
